About the Teacher

Hi, I'm Brooke! I've been playing the piano since I was 5, and teaching for over 10 years now. I love teaching people this amazing instrument and seeing them go from beginners to true musicians. Besides the piano, I also enjoy playing the ukelele and have dabbled in the guitar and harmonica.

My teaching style is upbeat, structured, and relaxed. I believe in using encouragement, not discouragement, to bring out the students' best ability. I also excel in tailoring my lessons to each student's needs and interests. Almost any musical style can be incorporated into your lessons. As an adult with ADHD, I am understanding and sensitive to neurodiverse students' needs.

I have a studio cat named Oswald who loves to hang out and visit with students, and is the inspiration for my studio's name. (You can read more about him here.) I also have a two-year-old daughter who loves to play the piano any chance she gets.

I'm not your average teacher; I'm creative with my lesson planning and I will always go the extra mile for my students. If you want to learn music in a positive, fun, and encouraging environment, I am the teacher for you.
